| THE NOM DE GUERRE THEATRE GUILD
Wicked Literature is produced by
the Nom de Guerre Theatre Guild.
Mission
The mission of the Nom de Guerre Theatre Guild
is to create fresh adaptations of classic literature in an effort
to offer the public a novel look at perhaps forgotten writings,
as well as to illuminate the literary masters of the past.
History
The Nom de Guerre Theatre Guild was founded in
1958 by the late actress and director Bobbi Holtzman as the Northridge
Theatre Guild. Since then, NTG has remained a vibrant theatrical
entity in the Los Angeles area. NTG received the first LA Drama
Critics Circle Award for Overall Achievement in 1969, an NAACP award
for Outstanding Production in 1982 (for The Wedding Band),
2 Drama-Logue Awards in 1992 (for The Roads to Home), and
4 LA Drama Critics Circle Awards and 9 Drama-Logue Awards in 1996
(for Eleemosynary). The year 2000 brought NTG a Garland
(Backstage West) Honorable Mention for The Fiery Furnace
and, in 2004, the production of Grace and Glorie earned
an LA Weekly Award nomination.
An effort to restructure NTG began in 2007
and resulted in the adoption of a new mission, a new name and a
new Board of Directors. Wicked Lit is Nom de Guerre’s
first venture involving its new mission to create stage adaptations
of classic literature.
